Goldenrod City is the largest city in the Johto region. Route 34 is out to the south while Route 35 is to the north. It is the fifth city in the region of Johto that the player will encounter. It is also the largest city in the Johto region.

Places of Interest
Goldenrod Department Store
The Goldenrod Department Store, located in the city center, claims to have a full selection of Pokémon Items for Trainers. The store back up its claim by boasting the widest selection of specialty items in Places/Johto. It is one of the largest buildings in Goldenrod City, making it easy to find.
Radio Tower
The Goldenrod Radio Tower, located at the west end of the main east-west path through the city, is the source of all Pokégear broadcasts in Johto. An antenna on top of the tower transmits radio programs. The building has three studios spread over five floors. The Radio Tower broadcasts numerous programs daily.
Underground Path
This Underground Path runs from the north western part of the city to the south western part of the city. Be wary of the multiple trainers along the path.
There are also multiple shops offering hard to find items and unique services.
Goldenrod Gym
The Goldenrod Gym is the official Gym of Goldenrod City. It is based on Normal-type Pokémon.
The Gym Leader is Whitney. Trainers who defeat her receive the Plain Badge.
Flower Shop
After defeating the Goldenrod Gym you can receive the squirt bottle from one of the ladies in the flower shop.
This can be used to face the Sudowoodo on route 36.
Global Communication Center
The Global Communication Center is housed within the Goldenrod Pokemon Center. It contains the Global Hub and the Friend Hub. >> This is No longer in the game.
Magnet Train
Located near the Radio Tower, the Magnet Train is a high speed connection from Goldenrod City to Saffron City. In addition to these two stops it also stops at Berry Vista and Twirl Forest.
The magnet train line can be seen cutting across Routes 31 and 32.
