Diamond Dive

From Pokémon 3D Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Diamond Dive is a cave located in southeastern Johto on Route 50. It is an expansive system of tunnels, many of which are submerged, that lead to an outside river valley, whose source is on Route 23.

Geography

The first cave is a small entrance at surface level, a bridge connects 2 of the entrances together to allow quick passage through Route 50, while the other entrance leads to a Rock Climb wall and a ladder into the next section of the area.

The next section is a large chamber. The entrance from Route 50 is high in the top corner of the chamber. A series of bridges and ladders, maintained by a helpful hiker, cross between various outcrops and ledges to allow for exploration of the chamber. Two massive waterfalls cascade down opposing sides of the chamber to flood the bottom. After traversing the path ways (including some loops and dead ends) and crossing a pair of smaller waterfalls, visitors will arrive at a dive spot.

Underwater the cavern turns in to a maze of narrow, completely submerged tunnels. The tunnels also have several dead ends and re-surface in several otherwise inaccessible sections of the main cavern. The deepest section leads to the base of one of the massive waterfalls. Riding up the waterfall leads back outside.

Outside the cave the river winds through a large canyon that the river has eroded over ages including down several waterfalls. Players will need to leave the river and explore the canyon to proceed. The river begins to narrow as its feeder rivers split off to the four mountain springs which feed the river. The first one is blocked by a large boulder but the second feeder river is accessible and leads back to a source spring, which also feeds a large waterfall into a secret grotto, the home of the Mythical Pokemon Diancie. Further up river is another feeder stream and the connection to Route 23 The path on route 23 rejoins the main path at a one-way ledge that ensures that anyone wishing to return to Diamond Dive must go back through the cave on Route 50.
