Vermilion City is a city located in central Kanto. It connects to Route 6 to the North, and Route 11 to the east. It contains the Vermilion Gym, home of Electric Trainer, Lt. Surge, and the the Thunder Badge. Also the Diglett's Cave's eastern terminus is located here.
Places of interest
Vermilion Docks
The Vermilion Docks contain places for the S.S. Aqua and the Seagallop High Speed Ferries to dock. The S.S. Aqua will travel to Olivine City on Wednesdays and Sundays, while the Seagallop Ferries will travel to the Sevii Islands.
If you talk to the sailor at the end of the docks while Mewtwo is first in your party, Mew will flee from the truck across the sea. The sailor will then give you the Old Sea Map which will allow you to go to Faraway Island and catch Mew.
Pokémon Fan Club
The Pokémon Fan Club is located just behind the gym and contains trainers whose love of Pokémon goes beyond the norm. The President will often ramble about his "lovely" Pokémon and will reward attentive listeners. Copycat's Clefairy doll will be found here.
Diglett's Cave
Located just before Route 11, Diglett's Cave is the easiest way to go to the western side of Kanto. The cave entrance is originally blocked by a Snorlax.
Vermilion Gym
The Vermilion Gym is the official Gym of Vermilion City. It is based on Electric-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Lt. Surge. Trainers that defeat him receive the Thunder Badge.
