Cliff Edge Gate
Cliff Edge Gate is a small cavern by Cianwood City that leads between the small island town and Route 47.
It serves only as a passageway until after the player has obtained HM08 (Rock Climb) and can use it outside of battle, at which point Pokémon are available in the small pond in the middle, along with a Big Pearl.
Geograpy
The small cavern is the gateway to the newly-constructed Johto Safari Zone, just west of Cianwood City. After entering the cave from Cianwood City, the information desk for the Safari Zone can be found, alongside a sign promoting the Safari Zone.
Further along the path, the cave climbs a steep incline up toward the exit to Route 47, however, along the way there is a set of rocks that can be scaled down to a small pond, which is riddled with wild Pokémon, and a separated shoreline which contains a Big Pearl concealed inside a rock.
