The Pokemon 3D game is based on numerous files found on your computer.

Each file goes in a specific folder depending on its job.

Installation Folder

This is the folder that contains the "Pokemon3D.exe" executable and all of the files that the game needs to run properly.

Files

Pokemon.exe

This executable file launches the game. When launching the game for the first time it will create some folders and files in the same folder as the executable.

log.dat

This file will be created upon launching the game, and can be read using any text editor. It contains a log of various processes that happen while playing the game, as well as errors and crashes. When the game crashes it also makes a separate file in the installation folder that should be reported to the #bug-reports channel in our Discord server.

Folders

Content

Contains the majority of the files used to run the default GameMode included in Pokémon 3D.

Content Packs

Place any Content Pack that you download in this folder and enable them in the Content Pack menu, which is found at the left-most button of the Main Menu. If the Content Pack you downloaded comes in a .zip/.rar/.7z file, be sure to extract it first into this folder.

GameMode

Place any GameMode that you download in this folder and start a new offline game to play it. If the GameMode you downloaded comes in a .zip/.rar/.7z file, be sure to extract it first into this folder.

Saves

Contains all of the offline save files for the game as well as the game's settings. (the online saves are stored in the cloud)

Screenshots

Contains all screenshots taken with the [F2] key in-game. Be sure to take your screenshots in Windowed Mode (press the [F11] key in-game to switch) as screenshots taken in Fullscreen Mode are saved incorrectly and can't be opened in other applications.
