Gates are buildings that connect two locations. Within a gate are two NPCs behind desks, and a sign above each door that indicates where the door leads to. There may also be some NPCs that the player may communicate with inside.
Trainer's Tip
You can start the Nightmare Quest in the Gate between Goldenrod City and Route 35, a Guard will give you a Spearow named "Kenya" with a Mail.
