Repels are items to prevent wild Pokémon from appearing.
They can be bought at Pokémarts or found in cities and routes.
To prevent Pokémon from appearing, your first Pokémon has to have a higher level than the wild Pokémon. Else, the battle would start normally.
The repel's effect wears off automatically after walking the given amount of steps, but the game will ask you if you want to use another repel.
There are three types of repels that are differencing in their amount of steps they are protecting the player from wild Pokémon.
The Super Repel is more cost-effective than the Max Repel (the Super Repel gives one step per
2.5 while the Max Repel gives one step per
2.8).
