The {{SS|Ecruteak Gym}} is the official {{SS|Pokémon Gym|Gym}} of Ecruteak City. It is based on [[Ghost]]-type [[Pokémon List|Pokémon]] and the Gym Leader is {{SS|Gym Leaders#Morty|Morty}}.

The [[Gym]] structure is designed to confuse challengers with an invisible floor. Only certain tiles can be stepped on to move on. Should the player walk on a non-solid tile, the player will be warped back to the beginning of the Gym. At the end stands {{SS|Gym Leaders#Morty|Morty}}, who will battle any challengers of the [[Gym]]. After Morty is defeated, he will give the player the Fog [[Badge]], and the ability to use [[Surf]] outside of battle.
