The Power Plant, occasionally referred to as the Kanto Power Plant in Generations II and IV, is a facility located on Route 10 in Kanto. It is the most noticeable building on Route 10 and requires the HM Move surf to reach. The power plant provides electricity for the Magnet Train.
There is a small patch of grass in front of the Power Plant where the player can catch several kinds of electric pokemon. Once the player progresses in the game, the legendary pokémon Zapdos can also be found standing in front of the Plant.

Mt. Moon
Mt. Moon is an important cave that directly connects Routes 3 and 4. There is no passage over the mountain so travellers have to venture through the cave. It consists out of two floors and one small square with a souvenir shop.
The lower floor is entirely made up of one room with two staircases leading up to the second floor. The second floor includes two smaller rooms with exits towards a square. on this square a souvenirs shop is situated which sells some nifty items. At night clefairy's can also be encountered, but not every night.

Rival's battle
When you enter Mt. Moon, your Rival will immediately come up to you and challenge you to a battle. This is the last forced battle with your Rival, but it should be one of the easiest. His Pokémon haven't changed from the last time you saw him. They are all in the low 40's, and are nothing that a strong, well-prepared party can't handle. Note his cool new final battle pose.

Mt. Moon is an important cave that directly connects Routes 3 and 4. There is no passage over the mountain so travellers have to travel through the cave.

Vermilion City is a city located in central Kanto. It connects to Route 6 to the North, and Route 11 to the east. It contains the Vermilion Gym, home of Electric Trainer, Lt. Surge, and the the Thunder Badge. Also the Diglett's Cave's eastern terminus is located here.
The Vermilion Docks contain places for the S.S. Aqua and the Seagallop High Speed Ferries to dock. The S.S. Aqua will travel to Olivine City on Wednesdays and Sundays, while the Seagallop Ferries will travel to the Sevii Islands.

If you talk to the sailor at the end of the docks while Mewtwo is first in your party, Mew will flee from the truck across the sea. The sailor will then give you the Old Sea Map which will allow you to go to Faraway Island and catch Mew.

Pokémon Fan Club
The Pokémon Fan Club is located just behind the gym and contains trainers whose love of Pokémon goes beyond the norm. The President will often ramble about his "lovely" Pokémon and will reward attentive listeners. Copycat's Clefairy doll will be found here.

Diglett's Cave
Located just before Route 11, Diglett's Cave is the easiest way to go to the western side of Kanto. The cave entrance is originally blocked by a Snorlax.

Vermilion Gym
The Vermilion Gym is the official Gym of Vermilion City. It is based on Electric-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Lt. Surge. Trainers that defeat him receive the Thunder Badge.
